* The game explicitly tells new players to main Scorpion.
* There’s a good chance your opponent is 13 years old.
* Their “spamming” is almost certainly due to not yet being fully comfortable with their moveset.
* Everyone “spams” for a while when picking up a new character, let alone a new game.
* Scorpion as a character kind of forces you to play like a yolo scumbag. Even good Scorpion players throw out unsafe shit constantly – they just hide it better behind staggers.
* Yes, almost everything Scorp does is infuriating. Think of it as a test of self control.
* It helps a lot to mute the mic.
* Whenever I let myself start to get on tilt against a Scorp main I find myself mashing in frustration, and that’s when I get clipped.
* It is true that a seemingly very high proportion of Searing Rage players are themselves teabagging / fatalling assholes. If it helps, I think this is mostly for reasons that have little to do with you:
* If they were very scrubby and fatal without teabagging, they probably are new/casual and just think that’s what one does after winning.
* When I first started I fatalled after literally every win – I didn’t realize I was being a dick until I started reading forums.
* They also might just be showing off to their friends.
* I think there’s also a bit of a cycle of violence here:
* New players start playing ranked as Scorpion, since he’s the guy in the tutorial.
* Their opponent, enraged to fight a Scorpion, tells them to kill themself on the mic, teabags, and then fatals.
* Eventually the young Scorp main gets good enough to win 40% of the time or so. By now they are a hardened teabagger.
* ~~~break the cycle~~~
* There is one exception: sometimes very good players go online to do scrubby bullshit and verbally abuse players just to rub in how great they are (e.g. that OnlyGrabs guy). Those people are assholes and you should feel free to teabag.
